Introduction

Established by the California Southern Baptist Convention in 1950 as a college, California Baptist University now operates as a private, Christian, liberal arts institution. The university was originally located in El Monte, California but after it outgrew its facilities, it was relocated to Riverside, California. In 2012, the university was named a First Tier Best Master’s College Institution by U.S. News and World Report.

CBU understands that times have changed, and there is a high demand for people to continue their education while maintaining a job and other life occurrences at the same time. Since there is a new shift to juggle more, California Baptist University now offers several online programs through the online and professional studies (OPS) program. These degrees are geared towards the non-student. It will give working students the flexibility they need in their lives to continue their day to day tasks and further their education.

Accreditation

The Western Association of Schools and Colleges, Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities recognizes California Baptist University. The university has maintained its accreditation since 1961. The school’s business programs are accredited by Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

Academics

California Baptist University believes that the purpose of the online MBA program should be to develop skilled and practical business leaders that are committed to making a difference not only in the organization that they work within but all in the community that they live. Through the online program at CBU, students can expect to develop the skills needed to excel in their fields but also develop as a spiritual person. Students that graduate with their degree from California Baptist University will be ready to face dynamic business problems, self reflect, think critically, lead others, manage change, and make executive decisions in a manner that will always honor God.

Unlike other MBA programs, all students will take the same classes from start to finish in the program. Students will work through the program and learn about entrepreneurial management, ethics, organizational behavior, legal and economic issues, financial analysis and global business. Upon entry into their last course, students will begin to participate in a comprehensive class that will test their knowledge from all prior courses. Students that enter the program must have proof of knowledge in business areas. If they do not exhibit certain business basics, student will have to take prerequisite classes to be caught up.
