Introduction

California Lutheran University, located in Thousand Oaks, California, was founded in 1959 on farmland that was donated by the Pederson family. The family members were Scandinavian immigrants residing in the area, and their influence has stayed with the school. The first students arrived on the new campus in 1961 with the first graduating class in 1964. Today the school has reached university status and offers 37 undergraduate and several graduate degrees.

Academics

Students that choose an online MBA program through California Lutheran University will earn an accredited degree from a program that is designed for the working individual. The web-based environment will provide students with a convenient and flexible schedule while advancing their career aspirations. The program will develop each individual student and mold them into professionals that understand: economic, legal, political, and strategic factors, financial and accounting processes and concepts, organizational theory, administrative processes, ethical values, and information technology for enterprises.
Students will enter a program that consists of 45 credits (15 courses). The first 12 courses will focus on the core business elements that all MBA students need to know. The following three courses will involve students taking elective classes. Each course is eight weeks long and courses are offered year-round. If students do not have a business background in their undergraduate work, then they may need to take additional classes. These classes are designed to help students prepare accounting, economics and/or statistics.
Students can expect that each class will include pre-recorded lectures, readings from the textbooks, live chat, required assignments, tests, and projects. The instructors will be available to help students adjust to the online learning environment and for communication about class issues.
