Introduction

The California National University for Advanced Studies (CNU) is a highly competitive accredited online institution of higher learning located in Northridge, California. CNU offers programs in a variety of subjects including engineering, business administration, and quality assurance sciences—all of which have practical and in-demand applications in today’s job market. CNU offers one of the best online MBA programs in California, a program targeted at students who want to start on the right foot in the world of business administration.

Accreditation

CNU is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC), which is a nationally recognized and respected accrediting agency. CNU’s website states that their MBA programs are “modeled closely after the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business accreditation standards,” meaning that they meet some of the highest criteria placed on business schools.

Academics

The CNU online MBA program gives students a targeted, high-quality business education in a number of key areas including accounting, marketing, business strategy, and leadership. Graduates will not only be able to develop and maintain businesses from the ground up; they’ll also be adept at every aspect of running an enterprise.
Students will learn to construct and implement accounting and finance plans through rigorous financial management classes. They’ll learn how to lead employees and build a reliable and functional team in managerial classes. Students enrolled in CNU’s MBA program will also learn how to market products and services effectively using a combination of traditional and cutting edge marketing strategies ideal for today’s changing market.

Admission

Unlike at most universities, CNU accepts applications throughout the year for its MBA program so there’s no deadline that students must meet before applying for admission. CNU’s admission requirements include but are not limited to the following:
  • Having a bachelor’s degree
  • Submitting a degree program application to CNU’s admission department through their website
  • Submitting previous college transcripts with the application
  • Once a student is approved by CNU’s Admissions Committee, they receive an Enrollment Letter that must be signed and mailed to CNU along with a payment prior to final admission
Applicants should be aware that CNU’s Admissions Committee reviews applications for enrollment on a case by case basis. Before someone can be deemed eligible for enrollment, they must be approved by the Admissions Committee prior.

Tuition and Financial Aid

The CNU sites states that “many [CNU] students receive tuition reimbursement from major corporations and small companies who approve CNU programs,” which is good news for students enrolled in MBA programs while working full time. Veterans applying through the G.I. Bill and Veterans Educational Assistance Program (VEAP) are eligible for Veteran’s Benefits on all CNU program.
