Introduction

Andrews University has considered scholarship, quality research, and a strong focus on practical Christianity a priority when it comes to education. Andrews champions the cause for making choices, offering students multiple options for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees, as well as providing flexible options for study methods and time frames. In keeping with this practice, they have made their Master of Business Administration degree program available completely online. As a Seventh-day Adventist institution, Andrews gives students the best opportunity possible to seek knowledge, affirm faith, and gain the preparation necessary to change the world.
Students in the Andrews University online MBA program seek knowledge by participating in intellectual discovery and inquiry, develop critical thinking skills and analysis, gain communication skills, evaluate aspects of education and life from a Christian perspective, and demonstrate capabilities in their chosen career disciplines and professions. By studying in a faith-building environment, students will grow spiritually, strengthen their relationship with Christ and others, learn to live a balanced lifestyle, and apply their faith to the business world.

Accreditation

Andrews is a member of the North Central Association and is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and The Accrediting Association of Seventh-day Adventist Schools, Colleges, and Universities. Furthermore, the business programs at Andrews are accredited through the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).

Academics

Enrolling students from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, Andrews University provides an online MBA program that thoroughly prepares them for positions that require a significant level of responsibility. Given the importance good leadership plays in the business world, Andrews University cleverly merges Christian principles with philosophy and business principles to create a workforce with wise judgment, critical thinking skills, effective communication abilities, conscientiousness for service opportunities, and most importantly, integrity in all aspects of business.
Although the program is offered online, this method requires a student to be on campus for three weeks during their last summer semester in order to complete intensive coursework. However, the entire 33-credit program (consisting of 11 courses) can be completed in one full year (fall, spring, and summer semesters) if the student pursues the degree full-time. The three weeks spent on-campus are important in the eyes of Andrews University as they feel like this gives students a chance to feel like a part of the university community prior to graduation.

Admission

Andrews University seeks to maintain a diverse body of students from all backgrounds and regions, but there are a few requirements for eligibility and admission.
To be eligible for the MBA program online, a student must have a Baccalaureate degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, have maintained a minimum of a 2.60 GPA (or 2.75 on the last half of the courses), and score at least an 80 on the TOEFL or MELAB test (if English is not the primary language).
Admission requires submission of the following documents: official transcripts from prior college where bachelor’s degree was obtained, two letters of recommendation from professionals (the online application requests their contact information so they can be sent a direct link to the letter form), a complete resume of prior work and/or professional history, formula score (GPA and GMAT score combined per required specifications), and statement of purpose (500-word essay detailing the student’s personal, professional, and academic goals, their philosophical perspective, and what they hope to accomplish professionally within ten years of completing the program).

Tuition and Financial Aid

Andrews University’s online MBA cost per credit hour is $495, putting the base cost at $16,335 for the entire program, excluding fees, course materials, or other costs associated with the degree.
